Senior REST API Developer – System Integration

About the role

DataPro Services is modernizing a legacy production platform that must stay live 24/7. We need a REST API Developer to design, refactor, and extend the existing services while guaranteeing zero‑downtime deployments. You will work closely with the DevOps and QA teams to ensure smooth rollouts.

Key responsibilities

• Rewrite critical endpoints in NodeJS for better performance and maintainability
• Implement versioned REST APIs adhering to OpenAPI standards
• Design database interactions with PostgreSQL, optimizing queries for high‑throughput workloads
• Set up automated testing and CI pipelines to support zero‑downtime releases
• Collaborate with legacy code owners to incrementally replace outdated modules

Must-have skills

• Strong experience building production‑grade REST APIs
• Proficiency in NodeJS, JavaScript, and PostgreSQL
• Understanding of zero‑downtime deployment patterns
• Ability to write clean, well‑documented code and unit tests

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Docker or Kubernetes
• Experience with API gateway solutions
• Knowledge of monitoring tools like Prometheus or Grafana
