About the role

Cascade Apps is revamping the performance and reliability of its customer‑facing services. We need a Python Backend Developer to redesign core APIs, tighten latency, and improve fault tolerance across our stack.

Key responsibilities

• Refactor existing Django services for high throughput and low latency
• Implement robust caching, async processing, and retry mechanisms
• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests to safeguard reliability
• Collaborate with DevOps to fine‑tune PostgreSQL queries and connection pooling
• Document architectural changes and create runbooks for incident response

Must-have skills

• Strong Python expertise with Django framework
• Design and consumption of RESTful APIs
• Proficiency in PostgreSQL performance tuning
• Experience building resilient, high‑performance backend systems

Nice to have

• Familiarity with async libraries such as asyncio or Celery
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines
• Background in monitoring tools like Prometheus or Grafana
