About the role
Pinecrest Systems is preparing a flagship mobile app that must sync flawlessly with its new backend services. As a QA Automation Engineer you will drive the test strategy that aligns mobile UI flows with backend APIs for the upcoming app store release. Your work will ensure that every release candidate meets performance and reliability standards across iOS and Android platforms.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement end‑to‑end test suites in Selenium WebDriver and Appium for the "Nimbus Sync" module that bridges mobile UI and backend services.
- Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline using GitHub Actions, ensuring nightly builds are validated against API contracts.
- Collaborate with backend developers to create contract‑based API mocks in Postman for early‑stage mobile testing.
- Maintain a version‑controlled test data library to simulate real‑world user scenarios for the app store launch.
- Generate detailed test reports and defect logs in Jira, tracking metrics against release milestones.
- Conduct regression testing after each backend schema change to guarantee mobile compatibility.
Must-have skills
- Strong experience with Selenium WebDriver and Appium for mobile automation.
- Proficiency in JavaScript (Node.js) for scripting test cases.
- Hands‑on knowledge of CI/CD tools, preferably GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
- Solid understanding of RESTful API testing and JSON schema validation.
- Ability to write clear, concise bug reports and work within Agile sprints.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with performance testing tools such as JMeter or Locust.
- Experience testing on both iOS (XCUITest) and Android (Espresso) frameworks.
