About the role

LumenWorks is building a real‑time analytics backbone for its operations teams. As a Node.js Developer you will shape the "PulseStream" data pipeline, turning raw event streams into actionable dashboards. The focus is on high‑throughput ingestion, transformation, and storage to empower rapid decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement micro‑services in Node.js to ingest CSV and JSON logs from field devices.
• Develop ETL jobs using Kafka streams and Node‑Kafka to route data into MongoDB collections.
• Create RESTful endpoints for analytics UI to query aggregated metrics with pagination and filtering.
• Write integration tests with Jest and SuperTest, achieving 90% coverage before each sprint.
• Set up CI pipelines in GitHub Actions for automated linting, testing, and Docker image builds.
• Document the PulseStream architecture and hand‑off notes for the ops team.

Must-have skills

• Strong experience with Node.js (v14+) and asynchronous programming.
• Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and building REST APIs.
• Hands‑on knowledge of MongoDB schema design and aggregation pipelines.
• Familiarity with Kafka or similar message brokers for real‑time data flow.
• Experience using Jest/SuperTest for unit and integration testing.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Docker/Kubernetes for containerized deployments.
• Understanding of data visualization tools such as Grafana or Tableau.
