Senior Docker Kubernetes Specialist – Platform Reliability

About the role

Orbit Labs is launching a greenfield SaaS product and needs a Docker Kubernetes Specialist to design the container orchestration foundation. You will work with a remote‑first team, shaping CI/CD pipelines, scaling clusters, and ensuring reliable deployments from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement Kubernetes clusters on cloud provider of choice
• Containerize micro‑services with Docker and define Helm charts
• Set up GitOps workflows and automated rollouts
• Collaborate with developers to embed best‑practice observability and security
• Document infrastructure patterns for future team members

Must-have skills

• Deep experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production
• Strong DevOps mindset and CI/CD tooling knowledge
• Proficiency scripting in Bash or Python
• Ability to troubleshoot distributed systems quickly

Nice to have

• Experience with Terraform or Pulumi
• Familiarity with service meshes (e.g., Istio)
• Background in cloud platforms AWS, GCP, or Azure
