Responsibilities
- Accurately translate a wide range of documents and materials from Spanish to English and English to Spanish, encompassing various subject matters including business, technical, legal, marketing, and general communications.
- Conduct thorough linguistic review, editing, and proofreading of translated content to ensure grammatical correctness, stylistic consistency, factual accuracy, and adherence to specific terminology glossaries.
- Perform comprehensive terminology research to ensure the precise and appropriate use of industry-specific jargon, colloquialisms, and cultural references in all translated output.
- Adhere strictly to established style guides, translation memories, and client-specific instructions, maintaining a cohesive and consistent brand voice across all translated assets.
- Manage multiple translation projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet challenging deadlines without compromising on quality or attention to detail.
- Collaborate actively with project managers and other team members to clarify ambiguities, discuss linguistic challenges, and ensure a shared understanding of project requirements and objectives.
- Utilize Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools (e.g., Trados, MemoQ, Memsource) efficiently to enhance productivity, maintain consistency, and manage translation memories and glossaries.
- Provide expert localization services, adapting content to specific regional linguistic and cultural norms to ensure maximum resonance and effectiveness with the target audience.
- Maintain the strictest confidentiality and data security protocols for all sensitive information and proprietary documents entrusted for translation.
- Offer linguistic consultation and feedback, proactively identifying potential issues in source text or suggesting alternative phrasing for improved clarity and cultural appropriateness.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of translation best practices, internal style guides, and quality assurance processes within the team.
- Ensure all translated materials are not only linguistically sound but also culturally appropriate and sensitive to the target audience's background and expectations.
Requirements
- Demonstrated native-level proficiency in both Spanish and English, with an exceptional command of grammar, syntax, vocabulary, and idiomatic expressions in both languages.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in Spanish-English translation, localization, or linguistic services, with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse project types.
- Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, Modern Languages, or a related field; a Master's degree or professional translation certification is highly advantageous.
- Expert-level proficiency in using leading Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools (e.g., SDL Trados Studio, MemoQ, Memsource, Wordfast) and terminology management software.

- Proven ability to conduct thorough research and effectively apply findings to translation projects, particularly concerning specialized terminology and cultural context.
