Senior Node.js Developer – API Design

About the role

NexGen Media is launching a security hardening initiative for its cloud‑hosted applications. We need a Node.js developer who can audit existing services, implement robust security controls, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review and reinforce authentication and authorization mechanisms in Node.js services
• Integrate security headers, rate limiting, and input validation
• Conduct threat modeling and vulnerability scanning for APIs
• Collaborate with DevOps to enforce secure CI/CD pipelines
• Document security enhancements and provide knowledge transfer

Must-have skills

• Strong experience with NodeJS and Express
• Deep understanding of REST API security best practices
• Proficiency in JavaScript and secure coding patterns
• Familiarity with OWASP Top Ten and cloud security concepts

Nice to have

• Experience with JWT, OAuth2, and API gateways
• Knowledge of container security (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Previous work on security hardening for SaaS platforms
