About the role
Vertex Analytics is launching a greenfield SaaS product and needs an AWS Cloud Engineer to design, build, and automate the core infrastructure. You will work with a remote‑first team, shaping the cloud foundation from scratch while ensuring security, scalability, and cost‑efficiency.
Key responsibilities
- Architect and provision AWS services (VPC, EC2, RDS, S3, IAM) for a new multi‑tenant platform
- Implement CI/CD pipelines using Docker, GitHub Actions, or similar tools
- Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting with CloudWatch and third‑party solutions
- Automate infrastructure as code with Terraform or CloudFormation
- Collaborate with developers to optimize runtime environments and deployment strategies
Must-have skills
- Strong experience with AWS core services and networking
- Proficiency in Docker containerization and orchestration
- Hands‑on DevOps practices: CI/CD, IaC, automated testing
- Solid Linux administration and scripting skills
Nice to have
- Experience with serverless architectures (Lambda, API Gateway)
- Knowledge of security frameworks (SOC2, ISO27001)
- Familiarity with Terraform modules and reusable patterns
