About the role

Northbay Systems is preparing a major product launch and needs a REST API Developer to uplift test automation. You will work closely with QA and DevOps to embed automated regression suites into the CI pipeline, reducing launch risk.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement robust REST endpoints in NodeJS for test harnesses
• Integrate automated API tests with existing CI/CD workflows
• Collaborate with QA to translate manual regression cases into automated scripts
• Maintain PostgreSQL schemas used by test data generators
• Document API contracts and testing guidelines for cross‑team use

Must-have skills

• Strong experience building REST APIs with NodeJS
• Proficient JavaScript coding and debugging
• Hands‑on with PostgreSQL for data‑driven testing
• Familiarity with test automation frameworks (e.g., Jest, Mocha)
• Understanding of CI/CD integration for automated testing

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker containers for test environments
• Knowledge of API contract tools like OpenAPI/Swagger
• Background in performance testing of APIs
