About the role
Northbay Systems is building a next‑gen financial platform and needs a Java Developer to lead a test automation uplift for its core "LedgerPulse" module. The goal is to cut regression risk dramatically before each major release, ensuring smooth launches for new features.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement a Selenium‑based automation framework integrated with JUnit 5 for the LedgerPulse service.
- Develop reusable test libraries in Java, covering API, UI, and database validation.
- Collaborate with QA and product owners to prioritize high‑impact test cases and define automation milestones.
- Set up CI pipelines in GitLab CI/CD to run automated suites on every merge request.
- Analyze flaky test patterns, introduce stable data fixtures, and report coverage metrics weekly.
- Document framework architecture and handover guidelines for future maintenance.
Must-have skills
- Strong Java (8+) development experience, especially with testing frameworks.
- Proficiency in Selenium, JUnit/TestNG, and REST API testing.
- Hands‑on experience with MySQL schema design and query optimization.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins) and Docker containers.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable code and unit tests.
Nice to have
- Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter.
- Knowledge of microservice architecture and Spring Boot.
