About the role

Northbay Systems is launching a new product line and needs a GraphQL API Developer to uplift test automation. You will shape the API layer while embedding automated regression checks to lower launch risk. This short‑term contract focuses on building resilient endpoints and integrating them with our CI pipeline.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement GraphQL schemas that wrap existing REST services.
• Write end‑to‑end test suites using Jest and Cypress to validate API contracts.
• Collaborate with QA engineers to embed automated tests into the build process.
• Optimize resolver performance and add monitoring hooks.
• Document API usage and test coverage for future teams.

Must-have skills

• Strong experience with GraphQL server development.
• Proficiency in NodeJS and building REST integrations.
• Hands‑on knowledge of test automation frameworks.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with React front‑end consumption of GraphQL.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions.
