As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. As a Basic Bookkeeper with our organization, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from data entry and accounts payable to accounts receivable and financial statement preparation. You will be working closely with our Senior Accountant to ensure seamless day-to-day operations and to identify areas for process improvements. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of financial software and systems, including QuickBooks and Excel. You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. You will also be working closely with our team of financial analysts to provide data and insights that will inform business decisions and drive growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Reconcile accounts, including bank statements and credit card statements.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including tax laws and accounting standards.
  • Provide data and insights to support business decisions and drive growth.
  • Work closely with our team of financial analysts to identify areas for process improvements and implement changes.
  • Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts to inform business decisions.
  • Prepare and review budgets and financial plans.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices and expenses.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Prepare and review financial reports, including accounts payable and accounts receivable reports.
  • Provide exceptional support to our team of financial analysts and accountants.
  • Collaborate with our Senior Accountant to ensure seamless day-to-day operations.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems, including QuickBooks and Excel.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in accounting or related field preferred.
  • Certifications, such as CPA or CMA, are an asset.
  • Experience with data entry and financial statement preparation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
