We are seeking a highly experienced Senior English Translator to provide professional translation services for various documents and content. This is a fixed-term project with a duration of less than 2 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate a variety of documents including business materials, technical content, academic papers, and marketing materials from source languages to English or vice versa
- Ensure accuracy, clarity, and cultural appropriateness in all translations
- Maintain consistency in terminology and style throughout all translated content
- Review and proofread translated materials to ensure quality standards
- Work with subject matter experts to understand context and technical terminology
- Meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality translation standards
- Adapt content to target audience while preserving the original meaning and tone
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5+ years of professional translation experience
- Native or near-native fluency in English
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality translations
- Strong attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills
- Expertise in translation tools and CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation) software
- Deep understanding of cultural nuances and idiomatic expressions
- Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, English, or related field
- Excellent time management and ability to handle multiple projects
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional translation certification (ATA, ITI, or equivalent)
- Experience in specialized fields (legal, medical, technical, marketing)
- Knowledge of localization best practices
- Experience with translation memory tools (SDL Trados, MemoQ, etc.)
- Portfolio of previous translation work
