Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage PostgreSQL databases to support our software applications
• Optimize database performance, security, and scalability to ensure high availability and reliability
• Troubleshoot database issues, perform regular backups and maintenance tasks, and ensure compliance with our company's data security policies
• Collaborate with our development team to ensure that our databases are aligned with our software applications and meet the needs of our users
• Develop and implement database architectures, data models, and data governance policies to support our business objectives
• Perform database tuning, indexing, and caching to improve query performance and reduce latency
• Implement data encryption, access controls, and auditing to ensure the security and integrity of our data
• Develop and maintain database documentation, including data models, entity-relationship diagrams, and database design documents
• Provide technical support and training to our development team and other stakeholders on database-related issues
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in database administration, including cloud-based infrastructure and NoSQL databases
• Participate in agile development methodologies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
• Collaborate with our DevOps team to ensure that our databases are properly integrated with our CI/CD pipelines and automation tools

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in database administration, with a focus on PostgreSQL
• Strong knowledge of database design, data modeling, and data governance
• Experience with Linux, cloud-based infrastructure, and containerization technologies such as Docker
• Strong understanding of database security, including data encryption, access controls, and auditing
• Experience with agile development methodologies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Experience with database performance tuning, indexing, and caching
• Strong knowledge of SQL, PL/PGSQL, and other database programming languages
• Experience with database backup and recovery, including point-in-time recovery and database replication
• Strong understanding of data warehousing, business intelligence, and data analytics
