About the role

Summit Digital is modernizing its legacy production platform, codenamed "Pulse Engine", with a strict zero‑downtime requirement. As a Full Stack Developer you will drive the migration of monolithic services to a containerized micro‑frontend architecture while preserving live traffic.

Key responsibilities

• Refactor legacy PHP endpoints into NodeJS/Express APIs using Docker and Kubernetes for blue‑green deployments.
• Implement a React‑based UI overhaul for the Pulse Engine dashboard, integrating real‑time WebSocket updates.
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas to support high‑throughput read/write patterns without service interruption.
• Set up CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions that include automated smoke tests and canary releases.
• Collaborate with SREs to configure Istio service mesh policies ensuring zero‑downtime rollouts.
• Document migration steps and create runbooks for rollback procedures.

Must-have skills

• Proficient in React and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• Strong NodeJS/Express development experience.
• Hands‑on with PostgreSQL performance tuning.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tooling.
• Understanding of zero‑downtime deployment strategies.

Nice to have

• Experience with Istio or other service mesh technologies.
• Background in legacy system migration and micro‑frontend patterns.
