Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, with precision and accuracy.
- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, to ensure compliance with accounting principles.
- Perform data entry tasks, including invoicing, payments, and journal entries, using accounting software and spreadsheets.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement, and provide recommendations to management.
- Collaborate with the financial administration team to develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, providing financial guidance and support as needed.
- Participate in financial planning and budgeting, including forecasting and variance analysis.
- Conduct financial research and analysis to stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
- Prepare and review financial reports, including monthly and annual reports, to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
- Collaborate with the audit team to ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Develop and implement financial models and forecasts to support business decision-making.
- Provide training and support to junior staff members, as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of experience in bookkeeping or financial administration, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software, including QuickBooks and Xero, and Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to provide exceptional support to clients.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Able to work in a virtual setting, with minimal supervision, and collaborate with team members remotely.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations and standards, including GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience and training.
- Certification in bookkeeping or accounting, such as QuickBooks Certified User or Certified Bookkeeper, is an asset.
