About the role

Cascade Apps is building a high‑velocity release pipeline for its flagship SaaS platform. As a Backend Developer you will lead a test‑automation uplift aimed at slashing regression risk before each launch, ensuring new features ship with confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a reusable test‑automation framework using NodeJS and Jest for all REST endpoints.
• Integrate the framework with the CI/CD pipeline (GitHub Actions) to run nightly regression suites against a PostgreSQL test cluster.
• Refactor existing backend services to expose deterministic test hooks and mockable interfaces.
• Collaborate with QA leads to define critical regression scenarios for the upcoming "Nebula" release cycle.
• Document setup, execution steps, and failure analysis procedures in the internal Confluence space.
• Deliver a pilot automation run for the billing sync module and present results to product stakeholders.

Must-have skills

• Proficient in NodeJS and JavaScript (ES6+).
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL schema design and query optimization.
• Hands‑on with REST API development and testing.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools, especially GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
• Ability to write clear, maintainable test code and debug flaky tests.

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker containers for test environments.
• Knowledge of performance testing tools like k6 or Artillery.
