Key Responsibilities

• Translate a wide range of documents, including technical manuals, marketing materials, and website content, from one language to another, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and cultural relevance.
• Review and edit translations to ensure that they meet the company's quality standards and are free of errors.
• Collaborate with project managers, linguists, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality translations and meet project deadlines.
• Utilize translation memory tools, terminology databases, and other software to enhance translation efficiency and quality.
• Participate in the development and maintenance of glossaries, style guides, and other linguistic resources.
• Work closely with clients to understand their translation needs and preferences, and provide them with expert advice and guidance on language-related matters.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in translation, and apply this knowledge to continuously improve our translation services.
• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to identify and resolve translation quality issues, and implement process improvements to prevent future errors.
• Participate in the recruitment and training of new translation staff, and contribute to the development of training programs and materials.
• Take ownership of specific projects and clients, and provide them with exceptional service and support.
• Develop and maintain relationships with freelance translators, and coordinate their work to ensure that it meets our quality standards.
• Analyze translation data and metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges, and provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
• Contribute to the development of the company's language strategy, and help to identify new business opportunities and markets.
• Work on special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior management, and take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in linguistics, translation, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience as a translator, preferably in a professional services firm or a translation company.
• Fluency in one or more languages, with excellent writing and editing skills.
• Strong knowledge of translation principles, methods, and technologies, including CAT tools and translation memory software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to produce high-quality translations that meet the company's quality standards.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with industry-standard translation software, including memoQ, Trados, and Wordfast.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
• Certification in translation, such as the Certified Translator (CT) or the American Translators Association (ATA) certification.
