About the role

Northbay Systems is building a robust data pipeline to empower operations teams with real‑time analytics. We need a Python Backend Developer to design, implement, and optimize services that ingest, transform, and expose data for downstream insights.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and develop scalable ETL components using Python and Django
• Create and maintain RESTful APIs that deliver processed metrics to internal dashboards
• Design PostgreSQL schemas and write performant queries for large data sets
• Implement automated testing and CI pipelines to ensure reliability
• Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to refine data models

Must-have skills

• Strong Python programming experience
• Proficiency with Django framework
• Hands‑on experience building REST APIs
• Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL and query optimization

Nice to have

• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, GCP)
• Experience with containerization (Docker)
• Understanding of data streaming technologies (Kafka, Pulsar)
