Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality, custom Shopify themes and applications, ensuring they are responsive, secure, and perform optimally across various devices and browsers.
• Collaborate with the design team to translate visual concepts into functional and aesthetically pleasing storefronts, focusing on user experience and conversion rate optimization.
• Work closely with project managers to understand client requirements, provide technical guidance, and ensure timely delivery of projects within the scope and budget.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for projects, including code comments and external documentation for clients and internal team members.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently, utilizing debugging tools and best practices to minimize downtime and ensure high availability of client sites.
• Implement SEO best practices in the development of Shopify sites to improve search engine rankings and organic traffic.
• Stay updated with the latest Shopify updates, features, and best practices, integrating this knowledge into current and future projects to maintain a competitive edge.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality code, adherence to coding standards, and knowledge sharing among team members.
• Engage with clients to understand their technical needs, provide expert advice, and deliver solutions that meet or exceed their expectations.
• Contribute to the development of our agency's technical capabilities, suggesting improvements to our development processes and tools.
• Collaborate with the QA team to identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring the highest quality of our deliverables.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet deadlines and maintain high productivity levels.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in Shopify development, with a strong portfolio showcasing custom themes, apps, and integrations.
• Proficiency in Javascript, HTML, CSS, and experience with React and NodeJS, with the ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Strong understanding of ecommerce principles, user experience, and conversion rate optimization strategies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug complex issues and provide creative solutions.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git and experience with collaborative development environments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with Shopify API, Shopify Polaris, and Shopify Theme development best practices.
• Knowledge of performance optimization techniques for ecommerce sites, including image compression, code minification, and leveraging caching.
• Familiarity with security best practices for ecommerce, including data encryption, access controls, and regular security audits.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently to meet project deadlines.
