About the role

BlueSky Ventures is preparing a new app store launch that requires tight alignment between mobile front‑ends and backend services. We need a Node.js developer who can design, implement, and fine‑tune APIs that power the upcoming mobile experience. The work is contract‑based, fully remote, and offers flexibility to match your schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express
• Collaborate with mobile engineers to define data contracts and error handling
• Implement authentication, rate limiting, and logging for production readiness
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure API reliability
• Optimize performance and monitor endpoints during pre‑release testing

Must-have skills

• Strong experience with NodeJS and Express framework
• Proficient JavaScript coding and ES6+ features
• Design and consume REST API architectures
• Understanding of asynchronous programming and promise patterns

Nice to have

• Familiarity with mobile app data sync patterns
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for Node.js services
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and serverless functions
