Key Responsibilities

• Create highly detailed and realistic 3D models from concept sketches and reference images.
• Collaborate with the design team to ensure that 3D models align with project requirements and design specifications.
• Work closely with animators and visual effects artists to integrate 3D models into larger scenes and animations.
• Develop and maintain in-house tools and scripts to streamline the 3D modeling process and improve workflow efficiency.
• Conduct research and development to stay up-to-date with the latest 3D modeling techniques, software, and technologies.
• Participate in project planning meetings to discuss timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
• Manage and optimize 3D model geometry and textures to achieve high-performance rendering and real-time capabilities.
• Maintain a high level of organization and asset management, ensuring that all project files are properly labeled and stored.
• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to identify and resolve any technical issues related to 3D models.
• Contribute to the development of style guides and best practices for 3D modeling across the company.
• Provide training and support to junior team members to help them develop their 3D modeling skills.

Requirements

• Demonstrated proficiency in 3D modeling software such as Blender, Maya, or 3ds Max.
• Strong understanding of 3D modeling principles, including geometry, topology, and texturing.
• Experience with UV unwrapping, mapping, and materials setup for realistic rendering.
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or MEL for automating tasks and creating custom tools.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues and optimize 3D models for performance.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, with a flexible approach to changing project requirements.
• Portfolio that showcases high-quality 3D models and visualizations, demonstrating a strong understanding of form, texture, and lighting.
• Relevant bachelor's degree in Computer Graphics, Fine Arts, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Certifications in 3D modeling software or related technologies are a plus.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and version control systems such as Git.
