Compliance & Risk Manager (Fractional) for Online Businesses & Agencies

I operate a group of 7- and 8-figure online businesses and agencies (e-commerce, SaaS, coaching, advertising) that must stay fully compliant in a rapidly changing regulatory environment (FTC, GDPR, CCPA, CAN-SPAM, Meta/Google ad policies, payment processor rules, etc.).

I am seeking a seasoned Compliance & Risk Manager to own all compliance, policy, and risk mitigation across the portfolio — preventing fines, account suspensions, lawsuits, and reputational damage while allowing aggressive but legal growth.

This is a mission-critical role reporting directly to me.

Responsibilities

Full compliance audits (advertising claims, privacy policies, terms, disclaimers)

Draft and update legal templates (privacy policy, terms of service, refund policy)

Monitor and interpret regulatory changes (FTC, GDPR, state privacy laws)

Review ad creatives, landing pages, and email sequences for compliance

Manage Meta/Google/TikTok policy violations and appeals

Oversee data protection (GDPR consent, CCPA requests, cookie compliance)

Handle payment processor risk (Stripe, PayPal holds/reversals)

Implement affiliate disclosure and testimonial rules

Risk assessment for new offers/products/launches

Quarterly compliance training for teams and documentation

Required Skills

8+ years in compliance/risk/legal ops for online businesses or agencies

Deep knowledge of FTC guidelines, GDPR, CCPA, CAN-SPAM, COPPA

Experience preventing or appealing ad account shutdowns

Familiar with tools: Termly, iubenda, OneTrust, Osano, CookieYes

Exceptional attention to detail and written communication

Nice to Have

Located in Philippines, Pakistan, India, LATAM, or Eastern Europe (4–6 hrs overlap with US time zones)

Background as in-house counsel, paralegal, or compliance officer for digital marketing/e-commerce

Experience with Stripe/PayPal risk and chargeback management

Familiar with ISO 27001, SOC 2 preparation

Weekly Commitment

20–30 hours per week (mostly async, some live reviews)

Payment Structure

Standard – $2,300/month (20 hrs/week, audits + policy updates)

Senior – $3,100/month (25 hrs/week, includes ad creative reviews + appeals)

Lead – $4,000/month (30 hrs/week, full risk strategy + training + regulatory monitoring)

Paid on the 1st and 15th via Wise or PayPal.
