About the role

Northbay Systems is preparing a major app‑store launch and needs a Microservices Architect to align mobile front‑ends with backend services. You will design a scalable, container‑based architecture that supports rapid feature rollout and high‑traffic spikes.

Key responsibilities

• Define microservice boundaries that mirror mobile feature modules
• Design API contracts and versioning strategy for seamless mobile integration
• Set up Docker images and Kubernetes manifests for CI/CD pipelines
• Implement service discovery, load balancing, and health‑check mechanisms
• Collaborate with mobile engineers to optimize data payloads and latency

Must-have skills

• Deep experience designing microservice ecosystems
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes orchestration
• Strong Java development background
• Understanding of mobile‑backend interaction patterns

Nice to have

• Familiarity with API gateways and service mesh technologies
• Experience with automated testing of distributed services
