We’re searching for a Creative UI/UX Designer who specializes in designing Android mobile app experiences. This role goes beyond making “pretty screens”—we need someone who can think like a product designer, understand user behaviors, follow Material Design principles, and help us translate business goals into intuitive mobile journeys.
You'll be designing an Android app from scratch — starting with mood boards and wireframes, then moving to high-fidelity UI, micro-interactions, iconography, and developer-ready design specs. We want someone who deeply understands spacing, color hierarchy, gestures, navigation patterns, and mobile usability.
You’ll collaborate closely with product managers, Android developers, and marketing teams to ensure the experience is consistent, impactful, and scalable across devices.
This project is 8–10 weeks, with potential long-term collaboration for future screens, features, and UI improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Research and analyze competitor Android apps for UX benchmarking
Create user journeys, flows, wireframes, and low-fidelity prototypes
Design high-fidelity UI screens following Material Design 3 patterns
Build scalable design systems (colors, typography, grids, components)
Prepare developer-ready assets (XML-ready spacing, icons, guidelines)
Design for multiple breakpoints and device sizes
Create interactive prototypes (Figma) for testing and flows
Collaborate with Android developers for implementation accuracy
Conduct usability tests and provide improvement suggestions
Optimize layouts for accessibility (contrast, touch size, readability)
Prepare design documentation and versioned component libraries
Work with product owners to refine UX based on user stories
Support QA team by validating UI accuracy in builds
Deliver micro-interactions (gesture hints, transitions, animations)
Maintain structured design files and continuous updates
Required Skills
3+ years of experience in mobile UI/UX (Android-specific is a plus)
Expert in Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch
Strong understanding of Material Design 3
Experience designing for gestures, navigation bars, and mobile patterns
Knowledge of UX fundamentals (heuristics, usability, flows)
Strong eye for color, spacing, typography, and composition
Ability to build design systems and component libraries
Experience preparing developer handoff files (Figma Inspect, Zeplin)
Understanding of Android constraints (safe areas, DP spacing, density)
Familiarity with prototyping tools (Figma Proto, ProtoPie, Principle)
Good communication and ability to explain design decisions
Ability to handle multiple iterations quickly
Portfolio with at least 10 mobile UI samples
Experience with testing tools like Maze, Hotjar, UsabilityHub (bonus)
