About the role

Vertex Analytics is preparing a major app store launch and needs a Database Administrator to ensure the mobile backend is tightly aligned with the new release. You will work closely with the mobile and backend teams to guarantee data integrity, performance, and scalability as traffic spikes.

Key responsibilities

• Design and optimize database schemas for high‑volume mobile queries
• Implement replication and sharding strategies to support global users
• Monitor performance metrics and fine‑tune queries for low latency
• Collaborate with API developers to enforce data contracts and security
• Develop backup, recovery, and disaster‑recovery procedures

Must-have skills

• Strong experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL
• Proven track record optimizing databases for mobile backends
• Understanding of indexing, partitioning, and connection pooling
• Ability to write efficient SQL and NoSQL queries
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for database migrations

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud‑native databases (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure Cosmos)
• Knowledge of containerized database deployments
• Background in data security and GDPR compliance
