About the role

Summit Digital is building a robust data pipeline to feed analytics dashboards used by operations teams. We need a REST API Developer who can design, implement, and optimize services that move raw operational data into our analytics layer. The role focuses on creating scalable endpoints, ensuring data quality, and supporting rapid feature rollout.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop high‑performance RESTful APIs in NodeJS.
• Integrate PostgreSQL for durable storage and complex queries.
• Implement data validation, error handling, and logging.
• Collaborate with data engineers to align API contracts with pipeline requirements.
• Write unit and integration tests to guarantee reliability.
• Document API specs and usage guidelines for internal consumers.

Must-have skills

• Strong experience building REST APIs with NodeJS.
• Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+).
• Hands‑on knowledge of PostgreSQL schema design and query optimization.
• Understanding of data pipelines and analytics enablement.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Docker or containerized deployments.
• Experience with message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka).
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for API services.
