Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain our RESTful APIs using NodeJS, JavaScript, and PostgreSQL.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, back-end developers, and quality assurance engineers, to ensure that our APIs meet the requirements of our web and mobile applications.
• Develop and maintain API documentation, including API specifications, tutorials, and examples.
• Implement security measures to protect our APIs from unauthorized access and ensure that they comply with industry standards and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve API-related issues, including debugging, testing, and optimizing API performance.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure that our APIs are following industry standards and best practices.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in API development, including new frameworks, libraries, and tools.
• Contribute to the development of our company's technology strategy, including recommending new technologies, tools, and methodologies.
• Collaborate with our DevOps team to ensure that our APIs are properly deployed, monitored, and maintained in our production environment.
• Develop and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests for our APIs using Jest, Mocha, and other testing frameworks.
• Participate in agile development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban, to ensure that our APIs are delivered on time and meet the requirements of our stakeholders.
• Collaborate with our product management team to prioritize and plan API development, including defining API requirements, creating API roadmaps, and managing API backlogs.
• Ensure that our APIs are properly documented, including API documentation, tutorials, and examples.
• Develop and maintain APIs that are scalable, secure, and highly performant, using caching, load balancing, and other optimization techniques.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in API development using NodeJS, JavaScript, and PostgreSQL.
• Strong understanding of RESTful API principles, including API design, API security, and API performance optimization.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, including ES6, ES7, and ES8 features, and experience with NodeJS frameworks, including ExpressJS and KoaJS.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, including database design, database development, and database optimization.
• Strong understanding of API security, including authentication, authorization, and encryption, and experience with security frameworks, including OAuth and JWT.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, including debugging, testing, and optimizing API performance.
• Strong communication skills, including written and verbal communication, and experience with collaboration tools, including Slack, Jira, and GitHub.
• Experience with agile development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban, and experience with version control systems, including Git and SVN.
• Strong understanding of API documentation, including API specifications, tutorials, and examples, and experience with documentation tools, including Swagger and API Blueprint.
• Experience with testing frameworks, including Jest, Mocha, and Chai, and experience with testing libraries, including Sinon and Enzyme.
• Strong understanding of API deployment, including containerization, orchestration, and serverless computing, and experience with deployment tools, including Docker and Kubernetes.
