About the role

LumenWorks is building a next‑gen analytics backbone for its operations teams. As a Cybersecurity Engineer you will secure the PulseStream data pipeline, ensuring real‑time telemetry is protected from ingestion to storage. You will partner with data engineers to embed security controls while enabling rapid insight generation.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement SOC monitoring rules for the PulseStream pipeline using Splunk and Elastic SIEM.
• Automate threat‑detection scripts in Python to scan inbound data streams for anomalous patterns.
• Configure AWS GuardDuty, Security Hub, and IAM policies to harden the analytics environment.
• Conduct daily log reviews and incident triage for data‑flow anomalies, delivering concise reports to operations leads.
• Collaborate with DevOps to embed security checks into CI/CD pipelines for data‑processing microservices.
• Develop run‑books for rapid containment of data exfiltration attempts within the pipeline.

Must-have skills

• Deep experience with SOC tools (Splunk, Elastic, QRadar).
• Proficiency in Python for automation and scripting.
• Strong knowledge of AWS security services (IAM, KMS, GuardDuty).
• Linux hardening and incident response expertise.
• Understanding of data pipeline architectures and streaming security.

Nice to have

• Experience with Apache Kafka security configurations.
• Certifications such as CISSP or AWS Security Specialty.
