About the role

DataPro Services is launching a data‑intensive analytics platform and needs a PostgreSQL Administrator to ensure the database layer is robust, secure, and performant. You will work independently on a defined project scope, collaborating with developers and data engineers to fine‑tune the environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL clusters for high availability
• Implement backup, recovery, and disaster‑recovery strategies
• Monitor performance metrics and tune queries, indexes, and configurations
• Apply security patches, manage roles, and enforce access controls
• Document architecture, procedures, and operational runbooks

Must-have skills

• 3+ years managing PostgreSQL in production
• Strong SQL proficiency and query optimization experience
• Hands‑on with backup/recovery, replication, and clustering
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments
• Ability to script routine tasks (Bash, Python, or similar)

Nice to have

• Experience with MongoDB or MySQL migrations
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Exposure to cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure Database for PostgreSQL)
