About the role

Northbay Systems is building a high‑performance backend to support its upcoming app store launch. As a Cloud Solutions Architect you will align mobile front‑end requirements with scalable cloud services, ensuring low latency and seamless user experience for the new app marketplace.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a multi‑region AWS architecture using VPC, Transit Gateway, and PrivateLink to serve mobile clients worldwide.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions that automatically build, test, and deploy Docker images to Amazon EKS for each app release milestone.
• Create Terraform modules for infrastructure‑as‑code, covering API Gateway, Lambda, and DynamoDB tables that store app metadata and purchase records.
• Integrate CloudWatch and OpenTelemetry for end‑to‑end monitoring of mobile‑backend latency, setting alerts for SLA breaches.
• Collaborate with the mobile engineering squad to define API contracts and implement secure authentication via Cognito and OAuth 2.0.
• Conduct performance load testing using k6 and iterate on auto‑scaling policies to handle peak launch traffic.

Must-have skills

• Deep expertise in AWS services (EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB).
• Proficient with Terraform for IaC and modular design.
• Strong background in Docker containerization and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
• Solid understanding of security best practices for mobile‑backend communication.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with serverless frameworks such as Serverless or SAM.
• Knowledge of mobile analytics platforms and data pipelines.
