About the role

LumenWorks is revamping the performance and reliability of its customer‑facing services. We need a senior Database Administrator to lead the overhaul of the data layer for the new "PulseCache" module, ensuring low latency and high availability under peak load.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze current PostgreSQL and MySQL schemas for bottlenecks and redesign indexes for the PulseCache workload.
• Implement automated failover and replication strategies using Patroni and Galera clusters.
• Develop and tune query performance dashboards in Grafana with real‑time metrics.
• Migrate legacy reporting tables to a sharded MongoDB setup for faster reads.
• Conduct load testing with pgbench and sysbench, delivering a 30% latency reduction.
• Document migration procedures and hand‑off guides for the ops team before project close.

Must-have skills

• 10+ years managing PostgreSQL and MySQL in production.
• Deep expertise with Linux system administration and shell scripting.
• Proven experience designing high‑availability architectures.
• Strong SQL performance tuning and query optimization skills.
• Familiarity with MongoDB clustering and data modeling.

Nice to have

• Experience with containerized databases (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for database changes.
