About the role

Northbay Systems is building a unified billing‑CRM integration platform called NexusBridge. As a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer you will secure the data pipelines, API gateways, and authentication flows that tie together billing, CRM, and internal services. The project demands rapid delivery of hardened security controls while maintaining compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement SOC monitoring rules in Splunk for the NexusBridge data streams.
• Conduct threat modeling of the billing‑CRM API mesh and remediate identified risks.
• Deploy and tune AWS GuardDuty, Inspector, and WAF to protect the integration environment.
• Automate security incident response playbooks using Python and AWS Lambda.
• Perform real‑time log aggregation and alerting for anomalous API calls.
• Collaborate with DevOps to embed security checks into CI/CD pipelines for the next 8‑week sprint.

Must-have skills

• Deep experience with SIEM platforms, preferably Splunk.
• Proficiency in AWS security services and IAM policy design.
• Strong scripting skills in Python for automation and analysis.
• Hands‑on knowledge of network security, firewalls, and TLS.
• Track record of securing micro‑service architectures and APIs.

Nice to have

• Certifications such as CISSP or GSEC.
• Experience with container security tools like Falco.
