Key Responsibilities

• Translate a wide range of documents, including technical texts, marketing materials, and educational resources, from one language to another while maintaining the original meaning and context.
• Proofread and edit translated texts to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency, using grammar and spell check tools to identify and correct errors.
• Conduct research to understand the context and terminology used in specific industries or domains, staying up-to-date with industry developments and trends.
• Collaborate with other translators, editors, and project managers to ensure the quality and timeliness of translations, participating in team meetings and contributing to discussions on translation best practices.
• Meet deadlines and deliver high-quality translations, prioritizing tasks and managing workload to ensure efficient completion of projects.
• Use computer-assisted translation tools and software, such as CAT tools, to streamline the translation process and improve efficiency.
• Develop and maintain a keen understanding of linguistic and cultural nuances, applying this knowledge to produce translations that are tailored to specific target audiences.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion, adhering to data protection policies and procedures.
• Stay current with industry developments, new tools, and technologies, attending workshops and webinars to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Provide feedback and suggestions for improving the translation process, contributing to the development of translation guidelines and best practices.
• Work closely with the project management team to understand project requirements and scope, ensuring that translations meet client needs and expectations.
• Participate in quality control processes to ensure the accuracy and quality of translations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance the translation process.
• Contribute to the development of translation memories and terminology databases, helping to maintain and update these resources to support future translation projects.
• Assist in the training and onboarding of new translators, sharing knowledge and expertise to support the growth and development of the team.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field, with a strong foundation in language and cultural studies.
• At least 2 years of experience in translation, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality translations in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent language skills in the source and target languages, with the ability to understand and convey complex information accurately and effectively.
• Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly understand the context and terminology used in specific industries or domains.
• Proficiency in computer-assisted translation tools and software, such as CAT tools, with the ability to learn new technologies and adapt to changing workflows.
• Attention to detail and ability to work accurately, with a strong focus on quality and a commitment to delivering error-free translations.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, prioritizing tasks and managing workload to ensure efficient completion of projects.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to team discussions and decisions.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion, adhering to data protection policies and procedures.
• Certification in translation, such as a Certified Translator (CT) or a Certified Interpretive Translator (CIT), with a commitment to ongoing professional development and growth.
• Familiarity with industry-standard translation software and tools, such as Trados or MemoQ, with the ability to learn new technologies and adapt to changing workflows.
