Position Overview


We're looking for an experienced SEO Specialist with 3-5 years of hands-on experience in technical SEO, on-page optimization, link building, and content strategy. This role involves developing and executing comprehensive SEO campaigns, conducting in-depth keyword research and competitive analysis, performing technical audits, and driving measurable improvements in organic search performance. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in SEO tools, analytics platforms, and white-hat optimization techniques.


This is a remote, fixed-price consulting engagement spanning 6-8 months, requiring 30-35 hours per week. You'll collaborate closely with our content team, web developers, and digital marketing strategists to implement SEO best practices and achieve aggressive growth targets across multiple client accounts.


Key Responsibilities


Technical SEO & Optimization (30%)

• Conduct comprehensive technical SEO audits to identify crawlability issues, indexation problems, and site architecture opportunities

• Optimize website speed, mobile responsiveness, Core Web Vitals, and overall site performance

• Implement schema markup, structured data, and rich snippets to enhance search visibility

• Resolve technical issues including broken links, redirect chains, canonicalization, and XML sitemap optimization

• Monitor and improve site health using Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, and technical audit tools


Keyword Research & Strategy (25%)

• Perform in-depth keyword research to identify high-value opportunities aligned with business objectives

• Develop comprehensive keyword mapping and content gap analysis for strategic planning

• Analyze search intent, competition levels, and ranking difficulty to prioritize optimization efforts

• Track keyword rankings, SERP features, and competitive positioning across target markets

• Identify long-tail opportunities and semantic keyword clusters for content expansion


On-Page SEO & Content Optimization (25%)

• Optimize title tags, meta descriptions, header tags, and internal linking structure

• Develop SEO-optimized content briefs and guidelines for writers and content creators

• Implement on-page SEO best practices including keyword placement, content structure, and user experience optimization

• Optimize images, multimedia content, and page elements for search engines and users

• Conduct content audits and provide recommendations for content improvement and pruning


Link Building & Off-Page SEO (20%)

• Develop and execute white-hat link building strategies including outreach, guest posting, and digital PR

• Identify high-quality link opportunities and build relationships with relevant websites and publishers

• Monitor backlink profiles, conduct competitor link analysis, and identify link building gaps

• Perform regular link audits and disavow toxic links to maintain healthy backlink profiles

• Track and report on link acquisition metrics, domain authority growth, and referring domain diversity


Must-Have Requirements


• 3-5 years of professional experience as an SEO Specialist, SEO Analyst, or similar role

• Proven track record of improving organic rankings, traffic, and conversions through SEO initiatives

• Advanced proficiency with SEO tools including Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz, Screaming Frog, and Google Search Console

• Strong understanding of Google algorithm updates, ranking factors, and search engine best practices

• Expert knowledge of technical SEO including crawlability, indexation, site architecture, and performance optimization

• Experience with keyword research methodologies, competitive analysis, and search intent mapping

• Solid understanding of on-page optimization, content SEO, and user experience factors

• Proven experience with link building strategies, outreach campaigns, and relationship building

• Proficiency with Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and data analysis for performance tracking

• Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations

• Excellent understanding of HTML, CSS, and basic web development concepts as they relate to SEO

• Outstanding communication skills with ability to explain technical SEO concepts to non-technical stakeholders


Nice-to-Have Skills


• Experience with international SEO and multilingual website optimization

• Knowledge of local SEO strategies including Google Business Profile optimization and citation building

• Familiarity with e-commerce SEO platforms (Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento) and optimization techniques

• Experience with content management systems (WordPress, Drupal, Contentful) and SEO plugins

Project Details


During this 6-8 month engagement, you'll manage SEO strategies for 6-10 client accounts across various industries including e-commerce, SaaS, professional services, and B2B technology. Primary deliverables include:


• Comprehensive technical SEO audits and optimization roadmaps for each client

• Monthly keyword research reports and content strategy recommendations

• On-page SEO optimization for 50-100 pages per client across the engagement

• Link building campaigns targeting 20-30 high-quality backlinks per month

• Monthly performance reports tracking rankings, traffic, conversions, and ROI

• Ongoing technical monitoring and issue resolution for all client websites


You'll have access to our premium SEO tool subscriptions, project management platforms, client communication tools, and internal SEO frameworks. Regular team sync meetings will ensure alignment and collaborative problem-solving throughout the engagement.
