UI/UX Designer for Web and Mobile Applications

Position Overview:

We're seeking a talented Senior UI/UX Designer to join our design team. This is a long-term contract position (6+ months) where you'll lead the design process for web and mobile applications, from research and wireframing to high-fidelity prototypes and design systems. You'll work on diverse projects and collaborate with product managers, developers, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

User Research & Strategy (25%)

- Conduct user research, interviews, and usability testing

- Create user personas, journey maps, and user flows

- Analyze user behavior data and analytics

- Define information architecture and site maps

- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business goals

UI/UX Design (60%)

- Create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes

- Design responsive interfaces for web and mobile applications

- Develop and maintain design systems and component libraries

- Create high-fidelity visual designs following brand guidelines

- Design intuitive navigation and information hierarchy

- Ensure designs are accessible and inclusive (WCAG compliance)

- Create micro-interactions and animation specifications

Collaboration & Handoff (15%)

- Work closely with developers to ensure design implementation

- Present and defend design decisions to stakeholders

- Participate in design critiques and feedback sessions

- Create design documentation and specifications

- Conduct design QA and ensure pixel-perfect implementation

- Mentor junior designers on the team

Must-Have Requirements:

- 4+ years of professional UI/UX design experience

- Strong portfolio showcasing web and mobile app designs

- Expert proficiency in Figma (primary design tool)

- Solid understanding of user-centered design principles

- Experience with responsive and mobile-first design

- Knowledge of design systems and component-based design

- Strong visual design skills (typography, color theory, layout)

- Understanding of HTML/CSS capabilities and constraints

- Experience with prototyping and interaction design

- Excellent communication and presentation skills

- Strong attention to detail and pixel-perfect execution

Nice-to-Have:

- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)

- Knowledge of Sketch or Adobe XD

- Familiarity with design tokens and CSS variables

- Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1)

- Understanding of front-end frameworks (React, Vue, Angular)

- Experience with design ops and version control (Abstract, Figma branching)

- Motion design and animation skills (After Effects, Principle)

- Knowledge of data visualization and dashboard design

- Experience with user research tools (Hotjar, Maze, UserTesting)

- Background in graphic design or visual communication

Project Details:

- Long-term contract (6+ months, with potential for extension)
