About the role

Northbay Systems is extending its B2B SaaS product with a robust multi‑tenant architecture. We need a PostgreSQL Administrator to design, implement, and fine‑tune the database layer that will power this new feature set.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and provision isolated schemas for each tenant while maintaining shared resources
• Optimize queries and indexes for high‑concurrency workloads
• Implement automated backup, point‑in‑time recovery, and disaster‑recovery procedures
• Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate PostgreSQL with existing services
• Monitor performance metrics and resolve replication or latency issues

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL in production environments
• Deep knowledge of partitioning, sharding, and connection pooling
• Experience with Linux/Unix administration and scripting
• Strong SQL debugging and performance‑tuning abilities

Nice to have

• Familiarity with MongoDB or MySQL for cross‑database reporting
• Exposure to container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Understanding of security compliance for multi‑tenant data
