About the role

BlueSky Ventures is building a next‑generation analytics platform and needs a Node.js Developer to lead a test automation uplift. The focus is on creating a robust regression safety net for the upcoming launch of the "Nimbus Suite" module, reducing release risk and improving confidence in code quality.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement end‑to‑end test automation for the Nimbus Suite using Jest and Playwright.
• Integrate CI pipelines on GitHub Actions to run regression suites on every pull request.
• Refactor existing Mocha tests to a unified framework and achieve 80% coverage on critical services.
• Collaborate with QA engineers to define flaky‑test mitigation strategies and reporting dashboards.
• Document test architecture, environment setup, and troubleshooting guides for future sprints.

Must-have skills

• Strong Node.js development experience (3+ years) with ES6+.
• Proficiency in Jest, Playwright, or similar testing frameworks.
• Hands‑on with CI/CD tools, especially GitHub Actions.
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
• Familiarity with MongoDB schema design and query optimization.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Docker containers for test environments.
• Exposure to TypeScript in a backend context.
