About the role

Harbor Softworks is launching a security hardening initiative for its cloud‑hosted IoT platform. As the IoT Solutions Architect you will lead the design and implementation of hardened network and system controls for the new "Nimbus Edge" module, ensuring compliance and resilience across all edge devices.

Key responsibilities

• Audit existing cloud‑native IoT services and produce a remediation roadmap within the first two weeks.
• Implement zero‑trust networking using AWS VPC‑Endpoints, IAM policies, and mTLS for device‑to‑cloud communication.
• Configure automated compliance checks with Terraform and Open Policy Agent, integrating results into the CI/CD pipeline.
• Design and deploy hardened Linux container images for edge gateways, hardened with SELinux and CIS Benchmarks.
• Lead a series of penetration‑testing sprints, document findings, and drive fix cycles with the dev team.
• Provide knowledge‑transfer workshops for internal ops staff on secure configuration management.

Must-have skills

• Deep expertise in IoT architecture, device provisioning, and OTA updates.
• Proficiency with cloud security services (AWS, Azure) and network segmentation.
• Strong scripting in Python and automation with Ansible or Terraform.
• Extensive Linux system hardening experience, including SELinux and firewalls.
• Hands‑on experience with TLS, PKI, and secure API design.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with MQTT security extensions.
• Experience with security monitoring tools such as Falco or Sysdig.
