About the role

BlueSky Ventures is building a real‑time analytics backbone for its operations teams. As an Android Developer you will extend the internal "PulseStream" module, enabling field agents to capture, visualize, and act on operational data directly from their devices. The project focuses on creating a robust data pipeline and analytics enablement layer that feeds into our central BI platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the Android front‑end for the PulseStream module using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Integrate with the existing RESTful data ingestion service, handling authentication, pagination, and error retries.
• Build offline caching with Room and synchronize data batches when connectivity resumes.
• Collaborate with data engineers to define protobuf schemas for telemetry events.
• Set up CI pipelines in GitHub Actions for automated linting, unit tests, and UI test execution on Firebase Test Lab.
• Deliver a performance benchmark report by week 6, targeting sub‑200 ms UI latency for dashboard refreshes.

Must-have skills

• Strong proficiency in Android development with Kotlin and Java.
• Experience building REST API clients and handling JSON/XML payloads.
• Familiarity with Jetpack libraries (Compose, Navigation, Room, WorkManager).
• Knowledge of data synchronization patterns and offline‑first strategies.
• Ability to write unit and instrumentation tests using JUnit and Espresso.

Nice to have

• Exposure to data analytics pipelines or BigQuery integration.
• Understanding of CI/CD for mobile apps with Fastlane.
