About the role

Cascade Apps is revamping the performance and reliability of its customer‑facing services. We need a PHP Developer to redesign core APIs, optimise database queries, and implement robust error handling. The work will directly improve response times and uptime for thousands of users.

Key responsibilities

• Refactor existing PHP codebase for speed and maintainability
• Design and implement caching strategies using Redis or similar
• Rewrite critical MySQL queries and add indexing where needed
• Set up monitoring and alerting for service health
• Collaborate with front‑end and QA teams to validate improvements

Must-have skills

• 5+ years of PHP development experience
• Deep knowledge of Laravel framework
• Strong MySQL optimisation skills
• Familiarity with performance profiling tools

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker or container orchestration
• Background in CI/CD pipeline configuration
• Understanding of microservice architecture
