PostgreSQL Administrator – Data Modeling

About the role

Ridgeline Software is launching a brand‑new greenfield SaaS product. We need a PostgreSQL Administrator to design, implement, and maintain the core data platform that will power the service from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and provision PostgreSQL clusters on cloud infrastructure
• Develop automated backup, restore, and disaster‑recovery procedures
• Implement performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization
• Collaborate with developers to design schemas that support rapid feature rollout
• Monitor health metrics and set up alerting for proactive issue resolution

Must-have skills

• 3+ years managing PostgreSQL in production environments
• Strong SQL scripting and performance tuning expertise
• Experience with cloud‑native database services (AWS RDS, GCP Cloud SQL, etc.)
• Familiarity with Linux command line and automation tools

Nice to have

• Knowledge of MongoDB or MySQL for cross‑database integration
• Exposure to container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines for database migrations
