Key Responsibilities

• Translate documents, reports, and marketing materials from one language to another, ensuring accuracy, cultural relevance, and high-quality standards.
• Collaborate with editors and proofreaders to review and revise translations, ensuring that they meet the required standards.
• Conduct research to stay up-to-date with industry trends, language developments, and cultural nuances, and apply this knowledge to translation projects.
• Work with clients to understand their translation needs and preferences, and provide tailored solutions to meet their requirements.
• Utilize computer-assisted translation tools and software to streamline the translation process and improve efficiency.
• Meet tight deadlines and deliver high-quality translations on time, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Contribute to the development of language style guides, glossaries, and terminology databases to ensure consistency and accuracy in translations.
• Participate in team meetings and collaborate with other translators, editors, and proofreaders to share knowledge, best practices, and expertise.
• Provide feedback and support to junior translators and assist with training and mentoring as needed.
• Stay organized, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and deliver results.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion, adhering to company policies and data protection regulations.
• Continuously evaluate and improve translation processes, procedures, and tools to optimize efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of industry-specific terminology, concepts, and regulations, and apply this knowledge to translation projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field, with a strong foundation in language, culture, and communication.
• Proven experience in translation, with a portfolio of samples demonstrating expertise and versatility.
• Excellent language skills in the target language, with a strong understanding of grammar, syntax, and idiomatic expressions.
• Strong research skills, with the ability to conduct research and stay up-to-date with industry trends and language developments.
• Proficiency in computer-assisted translation tools, such as CAT software, and experience with translation memory tools.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, editors, and other stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy, quality, and cultural relevance.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex information and make informed decisions.
• Certification in translation, such as the Certified Translator (CT) or the American Translators Association (ATA) certification, is an asset.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment, with a proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
