About the role

Summit Digital is embarking on a performance and reliability overhaul of its customer‑facing services. As a Microservices Architect you will lead the redesign of the "PulseStream" module, ensuring low latency and high availability across all user‑touch points.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and implement a resilient microservice mesh for PulseStream using Istio and Envoy.
  • Migrate legacy monolith components to Docker containers and orchestrate them on Kubernetes clusters.
  • Define API contracts and enforce versioning standards with OpenAPI specifications.
  • Set up automated performance testing pipelines in JMeter and integrate results into CI/CD with GitLab.
  • Collaborate with SREs to establish Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and implement real‑time monitoring via Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Document architecture decisions and create runbooks for incident response.

Must-have skills

  • Deep expertise in microservices design patterns and event‑driven architectures.
  • Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and service mesh technologies.
  • Strong Java development background and RESTful API design.
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
  • Ability to troubleshoot latency issues and implement scaling strategies.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
