About the role

Ridgeline Software is launching a security hardening initiative for its cloud‑hosted applications. We need a Microservices Architect to design resilient, zero‑trust microservice patterns and embed security controls across the stack.

Key responsibilities

• Assess existing microservice landscape and identify attack surfaces
• Define security‑by‑design guidelines for API gateways, service mesh, and data flow
• Refactor critical services to enforce authentication, authorization, and encryption
• Integrate automated security testing into CI/CD pipelines
• Collaborate with DevOps and Cloud teams to align hardening with scaling strategies

Must-have skills

• Deep experience designing microservice architectures
• Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and Java ecosystems
• Strong understanding of cloud security frameworks (IAM, zero‑trust, secrets management)
• Hands‑on experience with API security (OAuth2, JWT, mTLS)

Nice to have

• Familiarity with service mesh solutions (Istio, Linkerd)
• Experience with security scanning tools (Snyk, Trivy)
• Knowledge of compliance standards (PCI‑DSS, SOC2)
