Responsibilities:
Proofread manuscripts for spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors
Check for consistency in character names, timeline, and details
Correct formatting issues and inconsistencies
Flag awkward phrasing or unclear sentences
Mark errors using Track Changes in Microsoft Word
Provide a brief summary of common errors found
Complete 2-3 rounds of proofreading per manuscript
Meet agreed-upon deadlines (typically 2-3 weeks per book)
