About the role

Cascade Apps is undertaking a performance and reliability overhaul of its customer‑facing services. We need a MongoDB Specialist to design, tune, and secure the database layer, ensuring low latency and high availability under load.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze current MongoDB deployments and identify bottlenecks
• Implement sharding, indexing, and replica set strategies for optimal throughput
• Develop monitoring dashboards and alerting for latency, replication lag, and storage health
• Collaborate with backend engineers to refactor queries and data models
• Document best practices and hand over knowledge to the ops team

Must-have skills

• 5+ years hands‑on MongoDB administration and performance tuning
• Deep understanding of data modeling, aggregation pipelines, and transaction handling
• Experience with cloud‑hosted MongoDB (Atlas, AWS, GCP) and CI/CD integration
• Strong scripting skills (JavaScript/NodeJS) for automation

Nice to have

• Familiarity with container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of security compliance (SOC2, GDPR) for data stores
