About the role

Vertex Analytics is building the PulseSync Engine to bridge mobile front‑ends with our backend services for a major app store launch. As a Python Backend Developer you will ensure seamless data flow, low latency, and reliable authentication across iOS and Android clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement RESTful endpoints in FastAPI for the PulseSync Engine, targeting the app store release deadline.
• Integrate PostgreSQL schemas with Alembic migrations to support new mobile data models.
• Containerize services using Docker and orchestrate local test environments with Docker‑Compose.
• Set up CI pipelines in GitHub Actions to run unit, integration, and load tests on each PR.
• Collaborate with the mobile team to define API contracts and versioning strategy.
• Monitor performance metrics in Grafana and tune queries for sub‑100 ms response times.

Must-have skills

• Proficient Python development, preferably with FastAPI or Flask.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL, including query optimization.
• Hands‑on Docker for building and deploying services.
• Designing and documenting REST APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Version control with Git and CI/CD fundamentals.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms.
• Experience in mobile‑backend integration patterns.
