About the role

Pinecrest Systems is enhancing its operations analytics by building a robust data pipeline. We need a PostgreSQL Administrator for data pipeline enablement to ensure reliable, high‑performance database services that feed analytics dashboards used by operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain PostgreSQL clusters supporting ETL workflows
• Optimize query performance and index strategies for large‑scale analytics loads
• Automate backup, recovery, and replication processes to meet SLA requirements
• Collaborate with data engineers to integrate PostgreSQL with streaming and batch pipelines
• Monitor health metrics and resolve incidents quickly to minimize downtime

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL in production environments
• Strong knowledge of performance tuning, partitioning, and vacuum strategies
• Experience with Linux/Unix administration and scripting (Bash, Python)
• Familiarity with data pipeline tools such as Airflow or dbt

Nice to have

• Exposure to MongoDB or MySQL ecosystems
• Understanding of cloud‑native database services (AWS RDS, GCP Cloud SQL)
• Certifications in PostgreSQL or related technologies
