Senior Node.js Developer – Domain Modeling

About the role

NexGen Media is revamping a legacy production platform that must stay online 24/7. We need a Node.js Developer who can design and implement zero‑downtime migration patterns while modernizing core services.

Key responsibilities

• Refactor existing Node.js codebases to adopt async/await and ES2022 features
• Build stateless REST APIs with Express that can be deployed behind load balancers without service interruption
• Implement feature flags and blue‑green deployment pipelines
• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests to safeguard critical workflows
• Collaborate with DevOps to ensure seamless traffic shifting during releases

Must-have skills

• 5+ years of professional Node.js development
• Deep knowledge of Express, JavaScript (ES6+), and REST API design
• Experience with zero‑downtime deployment strategies (blue‑green, canary)
• Proficiency in writing automated tests (Jest, Mocha)

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Docker and container orchestration
• Background in CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions
